Gravy Spoon the excess off as fast as you can. Sprinkle the area with artificial sweetener or flour over the stained area to absorb the grease. Soak in a mixture of mild detergent and lukewarm water for at least 20 minutes.
Ketchup Run fabric, inside out, under cold water to flush out as much of the ketchup as possible. Apply liquid laundry detergent to stained area and let it soak in cold water for 30 minutes. Rinse with cold water and sponge the affected area with white vinegar. Finally, pretreat the stain and launder the item on the hottest water allowed by the fabric.
Juice Flush the affected area with cold water to remove any excess juice from the fabric. Use care to not spread the stain further. Soak the stain with a solution of liquid laundry detergent, white vinegar, and a quart of warm water for approximately 15 minutes. Rinse with cold water.
Lipstick Lipstick can generally be removed from washable clothing by using isopropyl rubbing alcohol. Use two hand towels; put one down and place the lipstick stain face down on it. Dab the back of the stain with the other towel, after dipping in alcohol. Repeat until the stain is gone.
Mildew Use an Oxygen-based bleach to remove mildew easily. Soak in a solution of hot water and oxygen bleach before washing as usual. For a natural alternative, soak overnight in lemon juice or salty water, launder as usual, and dry in the sun.
Milk Rinse fabric, inside out, under cold water to flush out as much milk as possible. Pretreat with a stain removal detergent, and soak in cold water for approximately 30 minutes. Do not use hot water. For old stains, soak overnight.
Soda Presoak clothing in a solution of liquid laundry detergent and cool water for at least 30 minutes. Pretreat stain with a prewash stain remover and launder in the hottest water the fabric will allow to finish removing the stain.
Spaghetti Sauce Run fabric, inside out, under cold water to flush out as much of the sauce as possible. Apply liquid laundry detergent to stained area and allow it to soak in cold water for 15-30 minutes. Rinse. Sponge stained area with white vinegar and rinse again. Lastly, treat stain with a prewash stain removal product and launder on hottest setting the fabric will allow.
Sweat Pre-treat underarm area of garment with a liquid laundry detergent so the buildup can be washed away. If the stain is old, treat with white vinegar to help dissolve any old perspiration. Wash in hot water every few washes to help remove sweat buildup.
Urine Run fabric, inside out, under cold water to flush out as much of the urine as possible. Treat the stain with detergent and soak in cold water. Launder in the hottest water the fabric will allow to finish removing stain.
