Wool Fabric Guideline: Generally, wool must be dry cleaned. However, check the label. Special Care: Some garments may allow for gentle cycles or a hand wash. Be sure to follow the directions on the label.
Acrylic Fabric Guideline: Wash in warm water on a regular cycle. Use a gentle dryer cycle to reduce unsightly pilling. Special Care: To further preserve the appearance of acrylic garments, lay flat to dry instead. This will help the item maintain its shape.
Washer Cycle Taking Too Long You may have overfilled the drum. Washers require space to move the clothing during the wash and spin cycles and can adjust the length of the cycle automatically. Remember, only fill the machine two-thirds of the way full for best results.
Washer Error – Off Balance / Overloaded When the machine has stopped, try rearranging items inside the machine, or removing bulky items. Remember to only load the machine two-thirds of the way full.
Clothing Still Soapy You may have used too much detergent. HE detergents are highly concentrated, so be sure to check the usage instructions. Run another cycle without soap and add fabric softener instead to help disperse excess soap from clothing
Rinse Cycle Not Working You may have over-soaped. HE detergents don’t create a lot of suds, so it’s best to follow the instructions on the packaging for proper usage amounts. Run the cycle again, using fabric softener instead of soap in the dispenser drawer. This will help remove excess soap from the clothing.
Dryer Not Heating Properly If drum is warm, but clothing is still damp, the issue may be the size or bulk of the load. Split the load into two smaller ones for optimal drying.
Wine Immediately flush or sponge stains with cold water, then soak in detergent and cool water. For red wine, use a pre-treat product. Stains from fruit, including wine and tomato sauce, disappear when boiling water is poured over them. For wine spots on cotton, treat within 24 hours with white distilled vinegar applied directly to the stain and rubbed. Then clean in accordance with instructions on the label. To remove red wine stains, use white wine. To remove red-wine stains, pour a big dose of salt on top of the stain to absorb the liquid. Put the tablecloth into cold water and try to rub out the stain. Use an enzyme detergent in the hottest water safe for the fabric, soak for 30 minutes and launder.
Vomit Begin by scraping any excess vomit from the fabric. Run fabric, inside out, under cold water to flush out as much vomit as possible. Pretreat with prewash stain remover, and launder in the hottest water the fabric will allow.
Urine Run fabric, inside out, under cold water to flush out as much of the urine as possible. Treat the stain with detergent and soak in cold water. Launder in the hottest water the fabric will allow to finish removing stain.
